For International Albinism Awareness Day in collaboration with @nydg_foundation, Stephanie Sinclair- famed @NatGeo Photographer shot myself and here one of her brilliant, punk rock, incredible kids for the #COLORFULL Campaign which aired giant over Times Square for massive crowds who gathered in unity and support these last couple days here in New York. The campaign, which is just under way, is to support healthy skin care and to show how we are all #Colorfull in our own skin. Proceeds of the @nydg_foundation sunscreen will be to support tuition and scholarships to support kids with Albinism in Africa in need. Let's unite and do look out for the the next generation of strong, beautiful, colorfull, unstoppable, confident, intelligent people with albinism. Meet Connie Chiu. She's the world's first albino fashion model. Chiu's first major modelling job was for Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris in 1994. Born in Hong Kong, Chiu grew up on a Kowloon housing estate. At the age of seven she moved to Sweden to escape Hong Kong's harsh sunlight. Albinism means she has an absence of pigment in her skin, hair and eyes, and suffers from light sensitivity. Since the '90s Chiu has graced numerous runways and magazine covers (and even appeared in a number of music videos). Nowadays she also spends her time performing as a jazz singer.
